Berlin based web TV station Hobnox goes online today!
Right now they’re running four channels, all connected to youth culture. What separates them from other web tv stations is the massive amount of self produced content. They’re having a handful of hosts, running different show formats. They recruited some german MTV-faces for that. Reminds a little bit of G4, although they are shifting the focus from game-related-content to music, film and street culture.
To push the whole web2.0-participatory thing they are having a contest where you can win 25.000 Euro to realise your project!
Whale Footage is a project by Dieter Paulmann. He has put amazingly beautiful footage of the sea world an it’s inhabitants online, which he has collected over the last 20 years.
The navigation concept is very intelligent, made by Scholz & Volkmer. Link via Jens Franke.
The ‘Experience’-website for the upcoming Videogame by Ubisoft. makes heavy use of fullscreen first person video.
Vincent Morisset has produced has produced an interactive Music Video for Arcade Fire’s “Neon Bible”.
Even though the degree of interactivity is rather small it feels quite natural, as the actions taking place respond to certain events in the lyrics.
Uboating.de is a new web based cinema magazine from Germany.
Every issue features a new movie with trailers, making of, interviews and more background information. I was impressed by the quality of the given information. All this supported by a beautiful design. Really shows what’s possible with web TV formats.
The first issue covers ‘A mighty heart’ by Michael Winterbottom, with Angelina Jolie, starting today in German cinemas.
Wilkinson aired a new campaign called Fight for Kisses.
The hearth of the campaign is a game, where father and baby son fight for the kisses of their mom/wife with equally soft skin. What interested me more is the great trailer, which is funny as hell and transports an intense atmosphere. Really makes you curious to explore the site. Go watch it!

The russian site for the new Lexus GS450h uses an intuitive keyboard controlled interface for navigating the content.
When you hold down the shift key you can navigate between the sections. Loosing it shows a short intro video and then opens the section where you can scroll the content with the left and right keys.
Video Remixes are all over the web right now. Therefore Sony gets it’s own Remix-Website to promote three new Vaio models. You can record yourself via your webcam and the recut the material on the website. Problem is that all three example videos are quite akward. It’s not really getting better that they label these remixes as “a sophisticated mix of intelligence and elegance.”
Question is, if the theme of the Remix matches the idea of the product or if they are just following a trend?
On the first look, there nothing exciting about Zoogami - it’s a clothing companies website, where you are guided through some litlle games by a funny character (reminds me of shaveeverywhere).
So while there’s nothing new about the interactive part of the website, it uses some classical elements of filmmaking. Costumes, set design and art direction are excuted very well with much love for the details. Thereby the website creates a very unique atmophere.
