Berlin based web TV station Hobnox goes online today!

Right now they’re running four channels, all connected to youth culture. What separates them from other web tv stations is the massive amount of self produced content. They’re having a handful of hosts, running different show formats. They recruited some german MTV-faces for that. Reminds a little bit of G4, although they are shifting the focus from game-related-content to music, film and street culture.

To push the whole web2.0-participatory thing they are having a contest where you can win 25.000 Euro to realise your project!

    Hey ClipHead!
You’re right, HobNox concept is similar to Sevenload. It’s a little early to judge now, because they are so new but I think they are doing some things right, that Sevenload isn’t.

1.) Interface, Video quality: The Video Player at Hobnox is much more catchy and goof to use. Good Video quality, too. I like the seamless integration of different clips

2.) Channels: In my opinion Sevenload has way to much channels. HobNox has only four, much stronger branding.

3.) Quality: Lots of the content on Sevenload is crap. They buying lots of content from external suppliers which does not fit together really well. A much stronger editorial handwriting on Hobnox. But I’m curious if they can keep the quality on a high level.

    So what do you think?
I would be interested in your thoughts!

    Cheers, Simon
